Favourite Russian food
Russian people like to eat and they like when there is a lot of food on the table.
National Russian food is called kasha. It is a dish made from some cereals.Kasha is rather a nourishing and tasty dish.The most favorite Russian kasha is made from boiled buckweat.
All dishes Russian people eat with bread, without it they feel hungry.
Dairy products,especially sour milk and sour cream, are also favorite Russian food.
Russian people usually eat 3 times a day, but they like to have a snack between meals.
For breakfast they usually eat sandwiches, as they do not have time to cook. Some people like to eat kasha or macaroni.
For dinner the main dish is soup.Russian people can't imagine their dinner without it.
Russian soup differs a lot from the soup in Western countries. They poured it in big plates. It usually consists of carrots, a beet, potatoes,a cabbage, onions and a piece of meat. They also like to put sour cream into it.
After soup they usually have the second course, which consists of meat or fish with potatoes,kasha or macaroni. Russians also like to eat salad made from fresh vegetables.
Their supper is very similar to dinner only without soup.
Fried and boiled potatoes are also very popular here.
There is also Russian food that people eat only on holidays: black and red caviar, smoked fish and different kinds of mushrooms.
Russian people eat a lot of jam.They make it themselves and every mistress has her own recipes that she got from their mother or grandmother.
