Are Russian people Europeans or Asiatics?
It is a difficult and old question. A lot of people have been disputing about it.
European and Asiatic cultures are mixed very much there and nobody can tell exactly.
One famous man said: ” Russian people behave like Asiatics in Europe and like Europeans in Asia’.
Maybe that is why Russian character is considered strange. As it is typical neither for Europeans nor for Asiatics.
The Asiatic traits of Russian character are:
- Some character traits: cunning, collectivity, aspiration for profit, they are less rational;
- The state is more important than a personality;
- There are a lot words from oriental languages in Russian language;
- Connections are very important. For example if you want to find a good job, you should have connections;
The European traits of Russian people are:
- Christian religion;
- Culture;
-Civilization;
So if you want to understand Russians you should be a European and Asiatic person at the same time.:)
